Permits, Licenses & Forms

 BUILDING PERMITS

You may use the General Building Permit Application form for things such as decks, siding, window replacement, swimming pools, additions, etc.  You may use the New Home Building Permit Application for a new home.  Once your permit is complete, bring in all your site plans, erosion control, etc. and we will advise the Building Inspector.  Once he has finished his process, he will contact you when the permit is ready for pick up.

Any questions may be directed to:

Bob Alsens, Building Inspector @ General Engineering 608-697-8007 or at balsens@generalengineering.net

 LIQUOR AND BARTENDER LICENSES

Liquor licenses are renewed each year on July 1st.  Applications are submitted to the Administrator in May of each year so that the Village Board can act on them at their June board meeting.

Operator (Bartender) applications may be picked up at either the Police Department or the Administration/Utility building.  Applications will not be accepted without proof of school.  A background check will also be done by the Police Department.  The fee for the bartender license is $25.00 and a background is $10.00.

 DOG LICENSING - ANNUALLY

Dog License

All dogs that reside in La Crosse County, Wisconsin, must be vaccinated against rabies and must be licensed by 5 months of age annually, according to State Statute and County Ordinance.

Dogs that reside in the Village of Bangor can be licensed through the clerk's office and needs to be done between January 1st and March 31st to avoid a late fee and citation. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required to license your dog.

  • The fee to license your dog is $23 for an unaltered dog and $12 for an altered dog.
  • If you fail to license your dog by March 31st, you must purchase a dog license from the County Clerk's office and pay a late fee of $25 plus the cost of the dog tag. This also applies if you get a new dog and fail to license it within 30 days, your puppy turns 5 months old and you fail to license it, or if you move into the County with a dog and fail to license it within 30 days.

The tag number, rabies data, and required information on each owner and dog are kept on file in the County Clerk's office. If you find a lost dog with a La Crosse County dog tag, you may call our office at 608-785-9581 for the dog owner's contact information.
