Municipal Utilities

Electric and water meters are read on the last two business days of the month. Meters are not read on weekends or holidays.

Utility bills are due in full and received in the utility office by the 26th of the month to be considered on time.

 

Winter Moratorium - November 1st thru April 15th:

On or after April 15th,  Bangor Municipal Utility will begin disconnecting electric and water services for non-payment. If you have a past due balance please make the payment, or give us a call or come in and make arrangements before April 15th. 608-486-2151.

 

Re-Connections:

Bangor Municipal Utilities does not do same day re-connections for those who are disconnected for non-payment.  Those customers will be re-connected the day following receipt of payment.  These re-connections will only be performed Monday thru Thursday 7:00 am thru 4:00 pm and Friday 7:00 am thru 10:30 am.

Flushing Notice

Bangor Municipal Utility crews will be flushing water mains September 15, 16, and 17, 2025 to remove rust and sediments from the water mains. You may notice a drop in water pressure during these times. It is temporary and will return to normal in a short period of time. Unfortunately the flushing procedure may also knock loose rust sediments in your water lines, this is only temporary and your water will clear soon after the flushing is complete.
